Big Island of Hawaii – Places to Go and Things to See
The Big Island of Hawaii is the largest of the Hawaiian Islands, in fact it's as big as all the other islands put together, and yet, it is the least populated per square mile. The Big Islands also has 11 out of the 14 of the world's climate zones – from desert advocate to tropical rain forests – the big island has it all. What this means to the Island visitor is that you have more variety and less congestion and wait lines.
Below are a few of the island's magnificent attractions – you can start down the street in our beautiful local community park. If sun bathing and water play is what you desire, plan a trip to Black Sand Beach or visit the southern most location in the United States – the spectacular Green Sand Beach. And, of course a trip to Volcano National Park, should be on any vacation agenda to the Big Island of Hawaii.

Waipi'o Valley, Hamakua CoastWaipi'o Valley is the largest and southernmost of the seven valleys on the windward side of the Kohala Mountains. Waipi'o is a mile wide at Waipio Valley, Hamakua Hawaii the coast and almost six miles deep. At the coast there is a beautiful black sand beach constantly pounded by the Pacific Ocean waves. On either side of the valley are cliffs reaching almost 2000 feet in elevation with numerous cascading waterfalls. Hiking in the Waipio Valley is amazing. |
